From Wednesday, April 20, 2022, Medjugorje became richer for a new cultural and artistic center. Namely, it is a modern digital museum called “Naša Majka”, which shows the history of this region as well as the history of Our Lady’s apparitions in Medjugorje.
All of this historical material is presented through photographs and vocal and video recordings. We could also describe it as Medjugorje in miniature. With the most innovative digital technology, holograms and video projections, visitors can get to know Brotnja and the phenomenon of apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The author and architect of the entire project is Dario Kordić. As part of the Museum, there is also an Art Gallery where the works of local artists are displayed.
As part of the newly built complex, there is also the Gallery souvenir shop and the Piazza cafe pizzeria. In front of the Piazza, in the middle of a beautifully designed square, there is the sculpture “HAND”. The sculpture, depicting the moment in which Christ extends his hand to the apostles in the storm, symbolizes the connection between Heaven and earth and gives the message: “Do not be afraid”! The author is academic sculptor Josip Ivešić.
The museum is located at Pope John Paul II, 22b Medjugorje.
For now, the Museum working hours are every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Ticket prices are: for adults €6, for people in group 5 E, for children and young people €3. The group’s visit must be announced by calling 036 650 – 517, where you can get all the necessary information.
